By Michael Dixon

ST. PAUL, Minnesota – After inclement weather on Monday, the ‘Dogs and St. Paul Saints split a resumed game and seven-inning game at CHS Field on Tuesday night.

The teams got through three innings on Monday before inclement weather pushed the remainder of the game to Tuesday.

The Saints got on the board in the 5th with a two-run homer from Max Murphy, but RBI singles from Randolph Oduber and Cody Regis tied things in the 6th.

Curt Smith hit a two-run homer to break a 2-2 tie in the 8th, and Jake Hohensee finished off the remainder of the game and tossed all six innings in Game 1 to earn his second win of the year.

With back-to-back wins, the ‘Dogs rolled out Ricky Knapp in the seven-inning second game. Tyler Pfeffer notched his first Saltdogs hit with an RBI single in the 3rdinning, but John Silviano clubbed a two-run double to right-center in the same inning and RBI singles from Dan Motl and Brady Shoemaker added insurance in the 6th.

Knapp tossed five innings and allowed two runs, while both Tyler Anderson and Austin Pettibone gave up runs in the 6th. Tyler Herr gave up one hit over 0.2 innings in his Saltdogs debut.

Daniel Herrera has four hits over the first two games of the series, while Randolph Oduber had a pair of hits on Tuesday night.
