HUSKER BASEBALL: Bolt Introduced As Nebraska’s New Head Coach

LINCOLN–(KFOR June 20)–Nebraska’s new head baseball coach was formally introduced to the media on Thursday morning inside the west skybox of Memorial Stadium.

Will Bolt was hired last Friday (June 14) to become 24th head coach in Husker baseball program history, succeeding Darin Erstad, who stepped down June 3 after eight seasons.

Bolt, who had been an assistant under Erstad at Nebraska, was an assistant coach at Texas A&M the past five seasons.

Joining his coaching staff are former Husker catcher and Lincoln Southeast alum Jeff Christy, who played in the Minnesota Twins organization, and Lance Harvell, who comes to Lincoln from Sam Houston State where he served as an assistant coach.

Bolt played shortstop at Nebraska from 1999 to 2002 and helped the Huskers to four post season appearances, including an NCAA Super Regional in 2000 before back to back trips to the College World Series in 2001 and 2002.
